Iris Openspace

Published on: 14/02/2021

We have been using Iris Openspace for the last couple of years as a secure way of sharing documents with clients, since the changes brought in by GDPR.  We have used it more extensively during the Covid-19 pandemic, as it also allows e-signature of documents such as tax returns and accounts.

However, the purpose of Openspace is to share documents rather than to store documents.   We have decided to routinely delete documents on a more regular basis, and cannot guarantee that documents that were uploaded to Openspace will be there for more than 3 months.  Therefore, if a document is important to you, please ensure that you download accordingly.

Two further points:

  1. When we share a document on Openspace, the original document will still be on our system.  If you need a copy of a document which we have deleted, we can always provide it again.
  2. In terms of file sharing from our clients, if you save a document on Openspace, please bear in mind that it is simply shared.  If you need to keep a copy of the document, please make sure that you retain it in your systems.

If you wish to discuss Iris Openspace further, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
